Feed It Forward

Feed It Forward, a visionary social enterprise, was born from the passion and ingenuity of Chef JaggerSean Gordon, a renowned Toronto chef and gastronomic expert. Inspired by the profound influence of his grandmother, who instilled in him not just a love for food but an understanding of its ability to nourish both body and soul, Chef Jagger embarked on a journey to redefine the culinary landscape. His path began in 2014, initially shaped by his experiences as a worldly bodyguard engaged in combating hunger across 36 countries.

Transitioning to Toronto, Chef Jagger pursued formal culinary education and honed his skills under the mentorship of esteemed chefs around the globe. However, it was his dismay at witnessing the staggering amount of food wastage that sparked a transformative mission. Determined to address this pressing issue and alleviate hunger, he founded Feed It Forward, a beacon of hope in the fight against food waste.

The evolution of Feed It Forward underscores Chef Jagger’s unwavering commitment to his cause. What began as a modest freezer program soon burgeoned into the groundbreaking Pay-What-You-Can “Soup Bar,” gaining acclaim within universities and colleges for its innovative approach to tackling food waste. Building upon this success, Chef Jagger expanded his vision with the introduction of a Pay-What-You-Can grocery store, leveraging surplus food to provide sustenance to those in need.

Today, Chef Jagger’s impact transcends borders as he spearheads global initiatives to combat food waste and hunger. Through meticulously crafted meal plans, he has nourished millions with the finest cuisine, demonstrating the transformative power of culinary philanthropy. Yet, his vision extends beyond traditional avenues, as evidenced by his revolutionary free food sharing app, offering individuals worldwide the opportunity to join the movement towards a more sustainable and socially responsible future. In the annals of culinary history, Chef JaggerSean Gordon stands as a trailblazer, a beacon of hope, and a catalyst for change.Jagger Gordon

Feed it Forward Free Food App

The Feed it Forward Free Food App builds stronger communities and healthier individuals by allowing users to share food instead of discarding it.

It does this by creating a space where pictures of free food, along with information detailing the type and quantity of the food, can be uploaded, making the food accessible to anyone else using the app. Once the food is uploaded it is featured on a pinging map displaying the portions and types of food available, along with the time and locations it can be picked up.

This app is revolutionary for those living within communities in need as it means they will not have to worry if they can afford their next meal. It will also revolutionize the local food industry, which is already struggling right now, by allowing restaurants, markets, and farmers to create new customers by supplying them with free food that would otherwise be wasted.

There is an additional feature that serves as a carbon footprint calculator which calculates the carbon emissions saved from the atmosphere when each accepted product is diverted from landfills. This app works towards replacing food insecurity with food accessibility by feeding the world and not its landfills. Feed it Forward Free Food App presents a better future for all of us by making food waste a thing of the past.
